Sony Interactive Entertainment and Polyphony Digital have released Update 1.38 for their acclaimed racing simulation game, Gran Turismo 7.
New Cars
The most prominent addition in the update is a collection of new cars, with three main models joining the lineup: the Garage RCR Civic, Honda Civic Type R (FL5) ’22, and MAZDA3 Gr.4. Furthermore, the Brand Central has been updated to include the Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition ’22 and the Toyota Ambulance Himedic ’21.
Liveries
New liveries have been added for several existing cars in the game, such as the Mazda RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT, Mazda Atenza Gr.4, and Mazda Roadster NR-A (ND) ’22, to enhance their visual appeal.
World Circuits
Race enthusiasts will find new events added to World Circuits, including races on the Grand Valley – Highway 1, Dragon Trail, and Mount Panorama tracks. These events, featuring Turbo Sportscars and World Touring Car 700, offer a fresh challenge for players.
Brand Central and Café Updates
A Museum entry has been introduced for Fiat in the Brand Central section, with Nissan receiving new spots. The Café segment of the game will now have additional Extra Menus, specifically Menu No. 29 for Porsche Supercars and Menu No. 30 for GR, available to players with Collector Levels 42 and 39, respectively.
Conversations
Moreover, new sets of conversations have been implemented with car designers such as Ed Welburn, Fabio Filippini, Freeman Thomas, and Hideo Kodama, as well as characters named Chris, Jeremy, and Stella. These conversations can be accessed by changing to specific cars in your garage and speaking with these figures in the Café.
GT Auto
In terms of customization and maintenance, engine swaps have now been made possible for select Porsche models, unlocked at Collector Level 50. Additionally, new pre-set decals from brands like Aim, Checkered Sports, and Hondata have been added to the Livery Editor.
Other Improvements and Adjustments
The update has introduced a “Weather Radar” button to the Quick Menu on the race screen and has also implemented a countdown displayed before a car is replaced when the “Replace Car After Leaving Track” setting is on. Furthermore, prices for Legend Cars have been revised based on real-life valuations provided by Gran Turismo’s partner, Hagerty.
