Crypt of the Necrodancer Update 1.09 Released, Patch Notes Here

Patch 01.09 for Crypt of the NecroDancer introduces exciting new content with the Hatsune Miku character pack. Players can now embody the iconic virtual singer, Hatsune Miku, who moves in all eight directions and attacks enemies with a spring onion while dancing through them. In a twist on the traditional gameplay mechanics, Miku doesn’t use a shovel; instead, she digs by dashing through enemies into walls and can charm monsters and shatter walls with her new ability: SING. Additionally, players can land consecutive hits to deal increasing damage and regain SING charges.

Accompanying the new character is a vibrant soundtrack featuring 15 Hatsune Miku songs, including two tracks crafted by Danny Baranowsky. This soundtrack is automatically enabled when playing as Hatsune Miku but can also be selected for other characters in single-player mode via the “Change Soundtrack” menu. However, due to differences in song speed and duration, using this soundtrack on other characters will contribute to the “Custom Music” leaderboards.

In addition to the new content, Patch 01.09 addresses several bugs and issues, including fixing screen tearing artifacts, resolving song playback errors without the AMPLIFIED DLC, ensuring proper cutscene audio, and addressing input latency and button mapping issues. Furthermore, compatibility mode has been added for joining online multiplayer lobbies hosted on older versions, allowing seamless entry into lobbies hosted on version 4.0.0 or above, regardless of the player’s game version.
