Age of Empires III Definitive Edition has been updated to version 56580 today. You can find out the complete patch notes from here.

Stability & Performance
- Fixed a crash that could occur when playing a game against the AI.
- Fixed a crash in the UI code.
- Fixed a crash that would occur when attempting to return to the Main Menu from the user’s Home City while playing the Story Mode campaigns.
Graphics
- The portrait of the Jat Lancer unit now correctly displays the player color.
Audio
- Fixed an issue where the Dock Rickshaw had no VO when playing as Swedes, United States, Hausa or Ethiopians.
UI
- The Saloon now appears correctly in the Mexican tech tree at Age II rather than Age III.
Gameplay
General
- Fixed an issue that prevented the completion of the secondary objective to gather supplies near the shipwreck on the “Into the Caves” mission of Blood, Ice and Steel.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the tenth cow from gathering at the Hacienda.
- Fixed an error that would occur when trying to report a Clan.
- Fixed an issue where the final challenge in the Fiesta Mexicana event could not be completed when the language is not set to English.
Fixes
- Lights from the “Día de Muertos (Day of the dead) 2/2” fireworks no longer appear in the revolution home city
- The Mexican home city, its lights, the time of day and the temple now behave correctly
Mods
- Fixed an issue that caused .personality files in a mod to be ignored by the game.
- The personalities.xml file now supports additive mods – use file personalitiesmods.xml with a root node called personalitiesmods.
- Fixed a bug that made it not possible to modify a ProtoAction of a unit using additive mods.

- Fixed a bug where the Fort auras would stack
- Increased aura range to 32 (from 26) — this is the same radius as displayed by the Fort’s ‘range ring’ after the Revetment improvement is researched

- Fixed a bug where Returning to Mexico would improve the Hacienda Wood toggle gather rate by 33.33% (removed)
- Insurgentes no longer gain +10% hp upon revolting (now only gain +10% atk and the Lasso charged ability)
- Mayan Supporters (card): effect changed to “Ships 6 Holcan Javelineers and 6 Yucateco Insurgents. Insurgents gain +10% more hitpoints”; no longer allies you with the Maya
- Yucatecan (card): Inspiring Flag gather rate aura decreased to 15%
- Amparo (card): Villager train speed reduction reduced to 25% (from 35%)

- Old Three Hundred (card): Markets now have a build limit of 3 (default change for all civilizations) – this fixes a gameplay issue where players may be tempted to feed their teammates wood to ‘spam markets’ with and spawn settlers more easily than intended
- Maya:
- Fixed a bug where the “Native Lore” and “Native Alliance” cards were activated upon revolting
- American Allies (card): Removed from deck
- Holcan Javelineer Build Limit per card: lowered from +2 down to +1, starting at 10 instead of 23
- Cruzob Infantry: Ranged attack Heavy Cavalry multiplier reduced to 1.5x (from 2.5)
- Cruzob Infantry: Speed reduced to 4 (from 5)
- Cruzob Infantry: ranged resistance flipped to melee

- Adjusted how silver mines spawn for a fairer distribution.
Great Lakes:
- Fixed an issue that could result in a player’s town center not to spawn.
Hokkaido:
- Added an additional hunt for each player in 1v1.
Niger Delta:
- Fixed an issue that could cause some of the rivers not to spawn on the large version only.
Panama:
- Fixed an issue that could lead to players not spawning in 4v4s.
Rockies:
- Reduced the number of native settlements in the valley from 2 to 1 in 1v1s.
Sonora:
- Fixed an issue causing the fourth trade socket not to spawn on the trade route in 1v1s.
- Fixed an issue causing treasures to be placed too close to cliff edges, thus being unobtainable.
Texas Frontier:
- Reduced the amount of hunts that spawn near players to better resemble the original legacy map.
Unknown:
- Fixed an issue that could lead to trade sockets not to spawn along the trade route if the map has a river.
- Adjusted water types and terrains to match for an improved appearance.
- Added Lenape native settlements (from the historical battle – Battle of Queenston Heights).
Yucatan:
- Fixed an issue that could result in some treasures and/or their guardians from spawning correctly.
- Adjusted the trade route to ensure a fairer layout.
