Monolith Soft is the lead developer behind the Xenoblade Chronicles series and they have reported a record surge in profits all thanks to their recent games.
In a report in GameBiz Japan, this information was revealed as part of their financial results. The company has recently released Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the Nintendo Switch along with a remake of the first game. There was also a standalone expansion for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 called Torna The Golden Country.
Monolith Soft’s financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2021 (22nd term) showed a 138.2% increase in final profit over the previous term to 1.171 billion yen. The results for the previous fiscal year (ending March 2020) were 491 million yen, according to a public notice of financial results published in the Official Gazette on July 7.
The company is a game development subsidiary of Nintendo, and its representative works include the Xenosaga series and the Baten Kaitos series.
According to the company, its development achievements in this period include Xenoblade Definitive Edition.
The developers have also worked on other franchises owned by Nintendo including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They are also helping Nintendo with the upcoming sequel.
