Tripwire Interactive Welcomes Matthew LoPilato as New CEO Amid Leadership Transition

Tripwire Interactive announced the appointment of Matthew LoPilato as its new CEO, effective immediately. This transition comes as Alan Wilson, the co-founder of Tripwire Interactive, steps down from his role as CEO to assume the position of Vice President within the company.

Having served as Tripwire’s CFO and working closely alongside Wilson, LoPilato brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the company’s operations to his new role. With a tenure dating back to 2016, LoPilato has been an integral part of Tripwire’s journey, particularly during its acquisition by Embracer Group in 2022.

The transition signifies a new chapter for Tripwire Interactive, with LoPilato at the helm overseeing a team of 120 employees dedicated to creating innovative gaming experiences and nurturing a global community of fervent fans.

Reflecting on his time as CEO, Alan Wilson expressed his confidence in LoPilato’s ability to lead the company forward. “It’s been an honor to serve as Tripwire’s CEO, but I am beyond thrilled to hand over the reins to Matt,” said Wilson. “He has been instrumental in our success and evolution as a standout developer and publisher, making him a perfect fit for this role.”

In his new capacity as Vice President, Wilson will remain actively engaged in various aspects of the company’s operations, including evaluating internal and external game titles, exploring publishing opportunities, and providing strategic support in business development and legal matters.

LoPilato, in his response to assuming the role of CEO, expressed gratitude for Wilson’s guidance and mentorship. “I am grateful to Alan for what he has done for our studio. He has been an amazing leader, mentor, and friend to me all these years,” said LoPilato. “We have a great outlook for what’s to come from Tripwire Interactive, as we continue to iterate on our portfolio of amazing IPs.”

As CEO, LoPilato will spearhead Tripwire Interactive’s strategic initiatives, focusing on further investment in flagship franchises such as the Killing Floor series and Maneater, while also expanding the company’s portfolio through Tripwire Presents, its third-party publishing division, and strategic partnerships within the gaming industry.
