The story in The Quarry takes place during the last day of a summer camp. It is set in Hackett’s Quarry where a group of counselors decide to host a party to celebrate this day. However, as the day comes to an end, things start to go from bad to worse. The youngsters’ party preparations collapse into an unexpected night of terror as they are pursued by blood-soaked locals and something considerably more terrible. Friendly banter and flirtations give way to life-or-death decisions as relationships are built or destroyed by unthinkable choices.

The game uses performance and motion capture to bring the likeness of the cast to life. It is similar to the previous projects from Supermassive Games including Until Dawn where Rami Malek played the role of one of the lead characters before he claimed universal fame after Bohemian Rhapsody and Mr. Robot.
