The Last of Us Franchise Sells 37M Copies, New Concept Art Shared For The Last of Us Factions MP

The Last of Us franchise has sold more than 37 million copies according to Naughty Dog. They have also shared a new concept art for TLOU Factions game.

In a new blog post detailing the 10th anniversary of the TLOU franchise, it was announced that the game has now sold more than 37 million copies between the four different releases. TLOU first launched on the PS3 in 2013 followed by a remaster for the PS4 in 2014. A sequel was confirmed to be in development and it finally launched in 2020 for the PS4.

Naughty Dog has also released a remake of TLOU Part 1 for the PS5. This was a native version of the game built from the ground up for the PS5. The cumulative sales of the franchise have now reached 37 million copies across the PS3, PS4, and PS5. The series is also set to hit the PC with the launch of TLOU Part 1 in March.

Naughty Dog has also shared new concept art for the upcoming The Last of Us Factions multiplayer game. This will be an open-world game set in The Last of Us universe with a focus on online multiplayer gameplay. There have been two different concept art shared for the game with the newest one again showcasing a city. There is a huge abandoned luxury cruiser in the background of this concept art.

“We’re looking ahead to The Last of Us’ 10th anniversary in June, and we’re so excited to share more with you about the future of this franchise. We’ll have some fun surprises for you along the way, but later this year we will begin to offer you some details on our ambitious The Last of Us multiplayer game, ” reads the blog post.

“With a team led by Vinit Agarwal, Joe Pettinati, and Anthony Newman, the project is shaping up to be a fresh, new experience from our studio, but one rooted in Naughty Dog’s passion for delivering incredible stories, characters, and gameplay. We first shared concept art of the project with you last year, and we hope this new piece of concept art below further excites you for what our team is working on.”

TLOU Part 1 is out now for PS5 and will launch on March 3 for the PC.
