Keighley also confirmed the runtime of The Game Awards 2023. He mentioned that tOne or more of the aforementioned new reveals may be related to Xbox titles. Microsoft had recently sent out a newsletter to Xbox subscribers, asking them to tune in to The Game Awards 2023 for “the best in gaming”.
The newsletter asked Xbox fans to celebrate the year’s best games and the big winners live at The Game Awards 2023 on December 7 at 4:30 PM PT along with major announcements and more Xbox news they won’t want to miss out on. One of the reveals may involve the unannounced title that is in development at 343 Industries. Not a whole lot is known about the project at this point, though it is speculated that it may be a brand new campaign set in the Halo universe. The game is said to be developed using Unreal Engine.
Previously, it was revealed during a live Q&A session with The Game Awards producer and host Geoff Keighley that the event security for 2023’s show is being ramped up in order to avoid the unforeseen incident from last year. Keighley mentoned that he didn’t want to discuss such matters publicly because they concern security. That said, he assured that him and his team definitely have plans and are trying to do all they can to ensure the safety of everyone, including himself, everyone watching the show in the audience, as well as people participating in the show.
