The Callisto Protocol developer has confirmed that there will be a 60 FPS mode in the game. They revealed this news on the official Twitter account.
The Callisto Protocol is a brand new horror game from Dead Space co-creator Glenn Schofield. It is currently planned to launch on December 2, 2022. Recently, there was some controversy over the current-generation releases of Gotham Knights and A Plague Tale: Requiem because both of these games didn’t support 60 FPS performance mode.
It appears that the developers of The Callisto Protocol have caught wind of this, and shared today that the game will indeed ship with a 60 FPS performance mode.
The developers haven’t shared the resolution for the game but it will presumably have a graphics mode as well that should target 4K and a performance mode with a target of 60 FPS.
The Callisto Protocol takes place in 2320 in the United Jupiter Company’s penal colony Black Iron. The player assumes the role of Jacob Lee (Josh Duhamel), a prisoner who finds himself in the midst of an extraterrestrial invasion that appears to have been orchestrated by the prison’s warden.
The Callisto Protocol is being developed for current and last-generation consoles in addition to PC. It will employ Unreal Engine 4 and will benefit from new lighting methods and 3D audio technologies provided by the latest platforms.
The Callisto Protocol will be released on December 2, 2022, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Glen Schofield, who previously co-created the Dead Space series, directs it.
