The next game from Stellar Blade developer Shift Up will be a “cross platform next-gen” action role-playing game, based on the latest information.
The recruitment section on the official website of Stellar Blade developer Shift Up states that its forthcoming “next-gen” project is a cross platform action role-playing game. The studio has listed job vacancies for a technical artist, monster concept artist, character concept artist, animator, and screenwriter in relation to this unnamed project.
Candidates for the position of technical artist are expected to have an understanding of the Unreal Engine pipeline, suggesting that the game will be developed either in UE4 or UE5. Furthermore, the listing for the position of character concept artist suggests that the game will feature an anime aesthetic. Meanwhile, the listing for an animator hints that the game will feature “stylish action”.
The job description for the position of screenwriter states that the new recruit will do scenario writing work within the urban sci-fi action role-playing game genre. Additionally, candidates for the position of monster concept artist will receive preferential treatment for high level understanding of sci-fi mech designs.
These details suggest that the next project from Shift Up will be a sci-fi action role-playing game featuring monsters, mechs, and stylish action in an urban setting, with an anime aesthetic. The setting doesn’t sound too different from the one seen in Stellar Blade.
Previously, it was revealed that among the selection of suits available in Stellar Blade is a NSFW suit called Skin Suit. It is stated in the equipment menu that there is a penalty for equipping this suit. Those who wish to play the game with the Skin Suit equipped will need to prepare themselves for a more challenging gameplay experience, as the protagonist will no longer have a shield. This, in turn, means that she’ll take instant damage when getting hit.
