Sega Is Targeting 5 Million Sales During Launch Year For Persona 6

Sega is targeting 5 million sales in the debut year for Atlus’ next entry in the Persona role-playing game series, Persona 6.

Speaking during a Q&A session with investors on the occasion of the company’s Q2 financial results for the year ending March, 2024, Sega Sammy’s Haruki Atami (Representative Director, President and Group CEO) and Koichi Fukasawa (Director, Senior Managing Executive Officer, Group CFO) stated that it would be possible for Persona 6 to achieve sales of 5 million copies in its launch year by releasing it on multiple platforms and simultaneously worldwide from day one.

The previous mainline entry in the Persona series, Persona 5, is a 2016 role-playing game developed by P-Studio and published by Atlus. It is the sixth installment in the Persona series, which is part of the Megami Tensei franchise. The game was released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan in September 2016 and globally in April 2017. In Japan and North America, Atlus handled the publishing, while Deep Silver took charge in PAL territories.
