Sea of Stars Patch Removes Content Creator Avatar From The Game

A new patch for Sabotage Studio’s role-playing game, Sea of Stars, has removed the in-game avatar of content creator Jirad from the game.

Thierry Boulanger, the director of RPG Sea of Stars developed by Sabotage Studio, has stated on the official Sabotage Studio Discord server that a patch will be released to eliminate content creator Jirad “The Completionist” Khalil from the game, following a controversy surrounding him in relation to the Open Hand Foundation.

In his post, Thierry has mentioned that a small patch will be going live on Steam and be submitted to consoles soon to replace the builder NPC in Mirth. He said that development team arrived at this decision after carefully monitoring events over the past few weeks, and while it is not their place to pass judgment, they do make it a priority to maintain a positive and optimistic space that reflects the spirit of their intentions, be they creative or otherwise.

Thierry expressed his appreciation for the support and trust given to the development team from fans to respect their decision while keeping the tone of the conversation in line with the essence of what makes their games and their community what they are.

Sea of Stars is available on Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Set in The Messenger (2018) universe, the game follows two heroes, Valere and Zale, who wield the power of the sun and moon to combat an alchemist. Gameplay includes puzzle-solving and turn-based combat, allowing players to control up to six characters. The game has garnered critical acclaim.

During their quest, Valere and Zale, supported by their childhood friend Garl, and later joined by the assassin Seraï, confront the Dweller of Woe alongside fellow Solstice Warriors Moraine, Erlina, and Brugaves. Following the Dweller’s defeat, betrayal ensues as Erlina and Brugaves summon a cult devoted to the Fleshmancer, using the monster’s remains to resurrect the formidable Dweller of Strife. Seeking safety, Moraine advises Valere and Zale to confront the Dweller at the cult’s stronghold on Mesa Island.
