Capcom is working on releasing a next-generation patch for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 soon based on an update on the PlayStation Database.
Capcom had already confirmed that they are planning to upgrade these games for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. They promised improved textures, ray-tracing support, and frame rate for the games. While they already supported 60 FPS, the improvements could lead to better performance like VRR support.
It appears that the updates are ready to be dispatched on the consoles as they have been discovered on the PlayStation Database.
Twitter account PlayStationGameSize has shared this news revealing that the updates should be dropping soon.
Resident Evil 3 Remake is reported at 20.5 GB. This is the file size of the PS5 version of the game. Resident Evil 2 Remake has been reported at 21.8 GB. There is no file size mentioned for the PS5 version of Resident Evil 7 but there will be two editions of it, one is the standard edition while the other is the gold edition.
Capcom has a showcase planned for June 13 and these updates are expected to arrive by then. You can see them being released on June 13 based on this rumor, although there is no official confirmation of their release date as of yet.
