The epic Western adventure Red Dead Redemption and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare, are coming to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 for the very first time. The release, scheduled for August 17, has been crafted by Double Eleven Studios and will be available in a single package, including backwards compatibility with the PlayStation 5.
Reliving the Classics on Modern Consoles
Red Dead Redemption has become one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, winning over 170 Game of the Year Awards. It tells the tale of former outlaw John Marston as he traverses the vast American West and Mexico to hunt down the remnants of the notorious Van der Linde Gang, all in a bid to save his family.
This release allows both new players and original fans to relive or discover the events following the epic story of honor and loyalty in the 2018 blockbuster Red Dead Redemption 2. Players will once again join Marston as he hunts down his former allies Bill Williamson, Javier Escuella, and Dutch van der Linde at the end of the cowboy era.
A Spooky Twist with Undead Nightmare
The package also includes Undead Nightmare, an eerie story expansion that transforms the world of Red Dead Redemption into a supernatural Western adventure. Marston finds himself battling a relentless zombie horde as he searches for a cure, adding a thrilling and unexpected twist to the genre.
New Language Support
Reflecting a broader reach, this release will include support for new languages for the first time, such as Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Latin American Spanish.
Pricing and Availability
Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be priced at $49.99 on the Nintendo Switch eShop and PlayStation Store. Physical releases are planned for October 13.
