Rockstar Games’ action-adventure game, Red Dead Redemption 2, has reached a new daily peak player count on Steam.
Steam Database statistics have revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 has hit a new 24 hour peak player count on Steam after being available on discount during the digital store’s Black Friday sale.
Red Dead Redemption 2 had a previous daily peak player count of 70,914 players on January 19, 2023, which was also during a sales period. The new daily peak player count of 73,138 players was reached on November 23, 2023. As one would expect, Rockstar Games’ titles are extremely popular during sales periods on the platform.
Previously, it was reported that modders have succeeded in running Red Dead Redemption 2 at 60 frames per second on hacked PlayStation 5 systems with firmware versions 3.00 to 4.51. The game was shown being played on a PS5 console with the 60 FPS mod applied in a video.
However, it is important to note that the ability to run the game at 60 FPS is currently only possible on a hacked PS5 with a certain firmware. The PS4 version of the game is stripped down from the PC version that offers many visual enhancements not seen in the console version. Therefore, it is recommended that fans who want to experience the game running at its best on a PS5 should wait for an official port.
Red Dead Redemption 2, developed and published by Rockstar Games, is the third installment in the acclaimed Red Dead series. The game immerses players in the exploration of the Wild West through the character of Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and member of the notorious Van der Linde gang, in a fictionalized representation of the United States in 1899. Its development spanned over eight years, making it one of the most expensive video games ever produced. The game’s technical capabilities were further demonstrated when Rockstar applied their expertise while porting Grand Theft Auto V.
