Red Dead Redemption 2 has reportedly been able to run at 60 frames per second (FPS) on hacked PlayStation 5 systems with Firmware versions 3.00 to 4.51.
Red Dead Redemption 2, developed and published by Rockstar Games, is the third installment in the acclaimed Red Dead series. The game immerses players in the exploration of the Wild West through the character of Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and member of the notorious Van der Linde gang, in a fictionalized representation of the United States in 1899.
The game has been praised for its storytelling, open-world design, graphics, music, and meticulous attention to detail, and has amassed an impressive list of accolades and achievements since its release. Its development spanned over eight years, making it one of the most expensive video games ever produced. The game’s technical capabilities were further demonstrated when Rockstar applied their expertise while porting Grand Theft Auto V.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has broken records, generating US$725 million in sales in its opening weekend alone. It surpassed the lifetime sales of its predecessor, Red Dead Redemption, in just two weeks.
In the video provided, the game is being played on a PS5 console with the 60 FPS mod unlocked. Please note that to run this mod on the PS4 version, a PS5 console capable of running homebrew is required.

However, it is important to note that the ability to run the game at 60 FPS is currently only possible on a hacked PS5 with a certain firmware. The PS4 version of the game, which can also run on this hacked PS5, is stripped down from the PC version that offers many visual enhancements not seen in the console version. Fans who want to experience the game running at its best on a PS5 should wait for an official port.
