Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart has super-fast load times with players estimating it to be just around 1 second, but this will be even shorter in the final game.
Insomniac Games has started to market Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart which is due out on June 11. The game offers a new perspective to the series by introducing Rivet, a new character, and sending the players on a dimension-shifting journey. This is all possible thanks to the super-fast SSD available in the PS5.
In a thread on ResetERA, one user created a short snippet giving a glimpse at how fast the load times are in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Rivet can be seen in the gameplay video rushing to a portal and then quickly transporting to a new level within seconds. However, this is actually not the optimal load time as per James Stevenson, the community manager at Insomniac Games.
“It’ll probably be slightly faster even by the time you play it in June, ” replied Stevenson to the user who had commented on the load times. By the time the game will arrive in June, the load times will be further optimized so it is going to be lightning-fast, perhaps even faster than seen in the animated GIF.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is currently set to arrive on June 11, 2021, for the PS5. In addition to using the SSD for load times, it supports haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to offer a unique gameplay experience.
