PlayStation has confirmed that Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2 are set for release in the year 2024.

On its YouTube channel, PlayStation has shared a video highlighting the games that are scheduled for release on PS5 in 2024, among which are Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2. Konami has yet to announce a release window for either of its remakes, so this would be the first time we have a confirmation in this regard.

Of course, this doesn’t mean either of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2 can’t get pushed to 2025, but it looks like the current plan is for both titles to see the light of day sometime this year.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of the 2004 game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, set in 1964, following FOX operative Naked Snake. The mission involves saving a Russian rocket scientist, sabotaging the Soviet nuclear superweapon Shagohod, and dealing with Cold War tensions. The protagonist must also confront his defected mentor, The Boss. This remake marks the first significant entry in the Metal Gear franchise since the 2018 release of Metal Gear Survive. Konami Digital Entertainment developed the game internally, with support from Singaporean studio Virtuos. The game is set for release on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.

Silent Hill 2 serves as a remake of the 2001 game of the same name. The storyline follows James Sunderland, a widower who returns to Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his deceased wife, Mary. Officially announced in October 2022, Silent Hill 2 is part of Konami’s initiative to revive interest in the franchise. It is the first major installment in the series since Silent Hill: Downpour (2012). Bloober Team’s Mateusz Lenart leads the project, with Motoi Okamoto from Konami handling production. The original game’s creature designer and composer, Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka, respectively, are involved with the project. The game is set for release on PlayStation 5 and Windows.
