Some PlayStation Network user accounts are being permanently banned due to unknown reasons, based on the latest report.
Certain PlayStation Network users are reporting that their accounts are being banned without any prior notice, and they have no idea why this is the case. One user mentioned that they didn’t have a chargeback, and that they were unable to appeal or get a response to their suspension status. Customer Support told them to create a new account and disconnected them from the session.
Another user complained about the sudden PSN account ban, claiming that they had done nothing wrong. They mentioned that they are a trophy hunter and have poured a lot of money into their account due to game purchases.
Other users mentioned having issues signing in to their PlayStation Network account. One such user stated that they tried logging in on their PS5, but upon clicking the ‘Sign In’ button, the text popup stated, “You can’t sign in using another player’s sign-in ID.” They mentioned that they entered the same login details that they had previously used to sign in to their PSN account, but were somehow no longer able to gain access. Another user finding themselves in the same predicament contacted Customer Support, but claimed that they were of no help.
It’s not yet known whether this is an isolated issue or one that is more prevalent across PlayStation Network regions. It’s possible that there may have been some sort of server side issue that has resulted in the automatic suspension of a batch of accounts, while others are not able to login at all. On the plus side, however, a few of these users did confirm later on that their PSN account is back in working order.
Whatever the underlying issue may be, we certainly hope that all Sony accounts that have been suspended due to this apparent mishap are re-enabled as soon as possible.
