Persona 6 Is Rumored To Feature A Semi-Open World & “Fluid” Social Links

Sega and Atlus’ next entry in the Persona role-playing game series, Persona 6, is set to feature a semi-open world and “fluid” social links, based on the latest rumor.

Reset Era member Head on the Block, previously known on the forum as Sega and Square Enix leaker Im a Hero Too, has shared that Person 6 will feature a semi-open world and “fluid” social links. They revealed these details while responding to another forum member who criticized the series for being, in their view, cliched and generic.

According to the insider, social links in Persona 6 are much more  “fluid” than in Persona 5. They said that players will have more opportunities to interact with NPCs and most of the social link activities will not be timed like in earlier games. Though, they added that this element is a major part of the Persona series.

The insider mentioned that a high school setting and social links are the core of the series. According to them, these elements will never change, rather the systems around them will evolve in future entries. Lastly, they mentioned that Persona 6 will feature a more “modern” world design, as it will be set in a semi-open world.

Previously, during a Q&A session with investors on the occasion of the company’s Q2 financial results for the year ending March, 2024, Sega Sammy’s Haruki Atami (Representative Director, President and Group CEO) and Koichi Fukasawa (Director, Senior Managing Executive Officer, Group CFO) stated that it would be possible for Persona 6 to achieve sales of 5 million copies in its launch year by releasing it on multiple platforms and simultaneously worldwide from day one.
