Old but amazing PC games you need to revisit

by GIStaff July 14, 2022

Have you been looking at new games to play but none have caught your interest? If this is the case, then it is time to go back to the classics and enjoy some of the old but fun-filled games still available. Some of these may be comfort games or ones that you generally enjoyed back in the day. Here is a list of some of the best titles:

Skyrim: Elder Scrolls V

You may remember spending hundreds, or even thousands of hours on this game. Skyrim, despite its age, is still playable and accessible on many platforms. It is a classic game many return to for a memorable RPG experience. Due to the game’s nature, Skyrim has withstood the test of time.

In addition, 3rd-party mods enhance and lengthens your Skyrim experience. They add new stories, better graphics, enchanting cosmetics and many more. Similar to slot tournaments, the game is invigorating and thrilling to play the more you invest your time in it.

Skyrim is available on popular platforms such as the PC, Nintendo Switch, Play Station and many more consoles.

League of Legends

If you have been looking for a sign to return to League of Legends, this is it. LoL has been one of the greatest games of all time and though its community may jokingly disagree, millions continue to play it. Having the ability to strategise and play skilfully with friends is the game’s main selling point.

If you haven’t been playing for years, here are some new things to take note of:

  1. There are now tons of new champions but you don’t have to play and learn all of them in one night. You can always resort to playing the champions you used to love playing.
  2. Most items still function the same but have been reworked to better fit the current META. You can also expect new and unfamiliar items added to the mix.
  3. You can still expect the fun and thrill you experienced when you started playing.

Monster Hunter World

Monster Hunter is a game thousands of its fans grinded hours on. Its game style promotes a cycle of preparation, execution and reward that makes the game fun to play for long hours. Revisiting the game may bring a sense of nostalgia for all the memories you may have with it. Its time-tested formula has its old-time players coming back for some monster hunting.

If you want to try a newer version of the game, Monster Hunter Rise has recently just released its Sunbreak DLC. This DLC is similar to the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. Hunt newly introduced monsters as well as old ones you used to fight. The game also has lots of add-ons and fun content that make it playable in the long term.

Portal 2

In the past decade, the game has accomplished so much because of its game design and attractiveness. Solving puzzles was the main attraction of the game. Players used to spend hours placing down portals and problem-solving to succeed in the game. After all the years since its release, these exceptional and varied puzzle systems are still fun to solve.

Revisit the game with a friend and challenge the timeless stages. The puzzles are as still as clever and unique as it was back in 2011. If you have never played the game before, now should be the time to do so.

Why you should try revisiting

Despite there being thousands of games released yearly, playing the old games you used to enjoy gives a different but enjoyable feeling. These games reward you for playing for long periods, like slot tournaments, which are the best.  If you aren’t enjoying the games you’ve been playing recently it is time hit the old games up and indulge in the nostalgia.
