Legendary Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu will return to compose the main theme song for the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and the final part in the Remake trilogy.
During a special talk session between Nobuo Uematsu, Tetsuya Nomura, and Kazushige Nojima on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Nomura asked Uematsu that, since he worked on the main theme song for Final Fantasy VII Remake, titled Hollow, and now the main theme song for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, titled No Promises To Keep, it stands to reason that he would come back for the sequel and final part in the trilogy.
Nomura clarified that while it hadn’t been made official, he wants to believe Uematsu would be a “lock” for the next title. He then asked the legendary composer if he’ll come back for the third game. He once again reminded that this isn’t an official statement or offer, and more of a gentleman’s agreement. Uematsu responded by saying that it would be his honor.
Furthermore, it was revealed by Nomura that him and Nojima are already hard at work on the main theme song for the third and final part in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. Uematsu mentioned that he’s honored to hear Nomura and Nojima extend the offer to him to work on it. Nomura jokingly asked whether the legendary composer is up for the challenge, as it would be tough to surpass the songs he has already composed for the Remake trilogy. Uematsu responded by saying that, for starters, he’ll take a vacation.
Uematsu has delivered fantastic tracks for both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and we’re excited to see what he comes up with for the final part in the trilogy.
