Nintendo To Release A Metroid Prime Remaster This Holiday

Nintendo is planning to release a Metroid Prime Remaster this holiday with the sequels arriving separately at a later date according to a recent rumor.

This comes from Jeff Grub who mentioned this in a new podcast on Giant Bomb. During the podcast, Grubb mentions that one of the games that have been planned to launch this Holiday for the Nintendo Switch is Metroid Prime Remaster. It will be followed by the sequels arriving at a later date and they will be launching separately.

In terms of the work done on the remaster, Grubb calls it a “big-boy remaster” suggesting that there is a lot more work done here than a simple resolution and texture upgrade.

The remaster is supposedly arriving in November in time for the 20th Anniversary of the game. He didn’t mention if this will be a full-priced release or a budget re-launch, but knowing the history of Nintendo, they might push it for a full-price like The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.

This is not the first time we have heard of a rumor mentioning that Nintendo is working on Metroid Prime Remaster. Although it hasn’t launched yet, the earlier rumors suggested that the whole trilogy was being pegged for a release on the Nintendo Switch. Based on this new update, they might not arrive simultaneously but at a separate time as individual releases.
