Nintendo confirmed the pricing for the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack during a Direct that was focused on Animal Crossing New Horizons. They revealed that the Expansion Pack will come with the DLC for Animal Crossing New Horizons that will cost $25. The price of this expansion pack is now $49.99 for individual users and $79.99 for Family membership.

This is a big jump from the previous figure, which was $19.99 for individuals and $34.99 for Family membership. As a result, the announcement has been heavily criticized by fans and it has also faced backlash on social media platforms including YouTube.
The video of the announcement continues to gather dislikes, and at the time of writing this article, it has hit 48K dislikes which makes it one of the most disliked videos on the official channel of Nintendo.
The expansion pack will also be available at a discounted price for those who already have their NSO membership. They can upgrade their existing subscription to the new one by paying the additional amount that is calculated based on their remaining subscription.
The expansion pack will add two new retro system libraries to the Switch Online network including Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64. The initial list of games is confirmed to offer QoL features and save state support in addition to online multiplayer.
