Nintendo is the richest company in Japan based on net cash, cash equivalent, and debt, as per the latest information.

According to Toyo Keiza‘s annual list for the year 2024, Nintendo is the richest company in Japan based on net cash, cash equivalent, and debt. The console maker’s cash and cash equivalent are estimated at 1.71 trillion Yen or about 11.44 billion US Dollars, and it has no debt.

The rankings by Toyo Keiza take into account the combined cash reserves and cash equivalents subtracted by the debt owed by a company. Therefore, the list is based on how much cash and cash equivalent a company holds, not its overall worth.

Other notable video games companies that found their way into the list of top 300 richest Japanese companies include Bandai Namco at #25, Square Enix at #38, Konami at #50, Sega at #63, GungHo at #64, Kadokawa at #81, and Capcom at #88.

Nintendo is a Japanese multinational video game company headquartered in Kyoto, Japan. Founded in 1889 as Nintendo Koppai by Fusajiro Yamauchi, it initially produced handmade hanafuda playing cards. Nintendo entered the console market in 1977 with the Color TV-Game.
