Naughty Dog is working on The Last of Us Part 3 and the game is already in production under Neil Druckmann according to a new rumor.
There have been rumors about Naughty Dog working on multiple projects including a new IP but this is the first time we are hearing something concrete from a trusted source. While the source doesn’t directly work in the industry itself, they have ties inside the industry as they have previously leaked information on some of the upcoming games including Crash Bandicoot 4 and The Last of Us HBO show.
According to this source, Neil Druckmann is currently working on The Last of Us Part 3 which is in production at Naughty Dog. This could be true since there is an HBO show based on the series coming soon. It is expected to be a big hit and should put the series in the spotlight just like it happened with The Witcher series on Netflix.
The Last of Us has received two games so far, both under Neil Druckmann. The upcoming sequel, if we believe this rumor, is also being helmed under him leaving the door open for other talented devs at Naughty Dog to work on something different like a new IP.
We already know that one of the projects that are currently in development at Naughty Dog is a multiplayer faction standalone release. This has turned out to be a rather ambitious undertaking with the developers promising a large city with the support of multiplayer in the game. This project is currently confirmed to be in development and not much has been seen from it aside from early prototype footage.
The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 are currently available for PS4 and PS5. The first game was remade for the PS5 and it is also set to launch on the PC in March 2023.
