Metal: Hellsinger, a heavy metal rhythm shooter, descended from hell into the hearts of gamers in September of this year. Metal: Hellsinger has received the Golden Joystick Award for Best Audio, with a 97% extremely favourable score on Steam and a solid critical reaction. Developer The Outsiders and publisher Funcom are both happy and grateful.
This award follows a nomination for Best Music and Score from The Game Awards, and the teams at The Outsiders and Funcom are grateful for the community’s support.
Hellsinger’s music is the rushing heartbeat of Metal. Slay demons by shooting, dashing, and performing vicious takedowns to the beat of the music. If you succeed, the layered music will get more intense, and you will cause more harm. Everything in the universe pulsates to the beat, luring you in without saying anything.
In addition to the brilliant musical team Two Feathers’ score, legendary vocalists were requested to contribute their voices to the project. Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Matt Heafy (Trivium), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God), Tatiana Shmayluk (Jinjer), and others are among the performers. They joined one by one, and their voices now resound through the eight Hells, causing players’ heads to bang.
Here is what Elvira and Nicklas of Two Feathers have to say about the win. “We are thrilled to be selected as the winners of this award. It has been a pure joy to be a part of creating this game with the incredible development team at The Outsiders, whose talents and hard work made a fun, unique game we know will stay loved by fans for years to come. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed their talent and skill to the soundtrack and audio experience, and thank you to everyone who voted for us to receive the Best Audio award!”
The news is hugely encouraging to the team as they continue working on the game, with a free update coming to Metal: Hellsinger soon.
