It appears that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra could be arriving just in time for the holiday season. During a recent interview, voice actor Khary Payton, who plays Black Panther in the game, provided insight into the title’s potential release window.
Speaking to The Direct at MultiCon in Los Angeles, Payton mentioned that while the team is “still working” on the project, they are currently expecting the game to launch around Christmas. This statement provides the first indication of a specific release timeframe, as the game was previously only confirmed for a general 2025 launch.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an upcoming action-adventure title developed by Skydance New Media and published by Plaion. Set in Nazi-occupied Paris during World War II, the game follows an uneasy alliance between Captain America (Steve Rogers) and Black Panther (Azzuri, King of Wakanda) as they attempt to prevent the rise of the infamous Hydra organization. The game draws inspiration from the 2010 Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers comic series.
First announced in October 2021, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is the debut project from Skydance New Media, a studio led by industry veteran Amy Hennig. The game also features Julian Beak as a producer and Marc Bernardin as a co-writer alongside Hennig.
While an official confirmation from Skydance or Marvel Games has yet to be made, Payton’s comments suggest that players may see the game’s release towards the end of 2025. With development still ongoing, fans will likely receive further updates as the year progresses.
