Konami May Be Looking To Port The Silent Hill Trilogy To Current-Gen Consoles

Konami may be looking to port the Silent Hill trilogy over to current-gen consoles, based on the latest information.

Speaking during an interview on the official Silent Hill YouTube channel, Rika Miyatani, Level Design Director at HEXADRIVE, stated that Konami had reached out to the studio about potentially porting the original Silent Hill trilogy to current-gen platforms.

Miyatani mentioned that everyone, including herself, who was part of the discussion was a big Silent Hill fan. As such, internally, people started talking and the development team said original ports would be nice too, but what they’d really like to see is a Silent Hill remake for current-gen consoles.

While this doesn’t mean that a current-gen port for the original Silent Hill trilogy is in development, it does suggest that the interest is there for it happen at some point in the future.

Previously, The preorder bonus for this release is a booklet featuring Masahiro Ito’s comprehensive notes, blueprint sketches, and concept paintings related to the statue. Twitter user has shared some of the new artwork and delved into the insights gained from the booklet regarding the Pyramid Head’s design.

The project began in 2014, with Ito’s concept art for the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake being based on the statue’s blueprints. The “Art & Sculpt” booklet begins by crediting Ito and Akao, followed by an unreleased ‘Misty Day, Remains of the Judgment’ painting from 2015. The third page outlines Ito’s intention to refine details not achievable on the original game consoles due to technical limitations while also preserving the character’s original appearance.
