Whitethorn Games, a publisher of inclusive and accessible games, and Not Dead Design, a game developer, announced today the release of Kana Quest on Nintendo Switch. The game is now available in North America and Europe and will be available in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea on March 30.
Kana Quest is a match ‘em up game that teaches players how to read Japanese through engaging tile-swapping puzzles. Each phonetic letter in Japanese is called a Kana, and players must rearrange a grid of Kana to match tiles with shared sounds. With over 300 hand-crafted puzzles across 13 worlds set in a cheerful, retro-arcade pixel art environment, Kana Quest offers a fun and unique twist on the educational game genre.
The game is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to fluent speakers. Kana Quest offers puzzles and lessons that challenge players without the pressure of pop quizzes or tests. The game features beautiful sprite art and catchy music that accompany players on their language-learning journey.
Kana Quest is now available on PC via Steam worldwide and on Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe. The game will be available on Nintendo Switch in Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea on March 30, 2023.
