Rumor: Hogwarts Legacy Has Been Delayed To 2023

Hogwarts Legacy was supposed to release in 2021 but it was pushed back to 2022. Now according to a new rumor, it is set to receive another delay.

This time the source of the rumor is Colin Moriarty, ex-IGN editor, who shared this information on his Sacred Symbols podcast. The podcast is available for Patreon supporters and is currently locked behind a paywall.

In this podcast, Moriarty mentions hearing about Hogwarts Legacy facing trouble in development and thus won’t make its 2022 release window. “I’m hearing behind the scenes that game is not coming out this year, and that it’s in some sort of trouble, ” says Colin Moriarty in the podcast.

Back when the game was delayed to 2022, Warner Bros. Games stated that they wanted to create the best possible experience for players.

We would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label. Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs.

This brand new open-world Harry Potter adventure is being developed at Portkey Games, which is a studio that was founded specifically for Hogwarts Legacy.

The game was confirmed for PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC. After the delay, it is possible that the last-generation consoles might be removed in favor of a more polished focus on the current-generation consoles.

Warner Bros. Games and Portkey Games haven’t officially announced a delay, but there are rumors suggesting that they might be able to showcase some new information for the game soon.
