Halo Infinite Canceled Split-Screen Co-Op Works With An Exploit On Xbox Consoles

Halo Infinite was supposed to get split-screen co-op after the launch of the game, but that has been canceled. Although not before it is seen working on Xbox One.

A video has been making the rounds on Twitter showing an exploit that explains in simple steps how to make the co-op work on Xbox consoles. It has been claimed that this exploit can even work on the original Xbox One but obviously the performance of the game takes a hit due to it.

Here are the steps to run this exploit in Halo Infinite and get split-screen co-op running on Xbox consoles. This requires two consoles although it will make it possible to run split-screen on a single Xbox. Make sure you have a friend playing the game and idling around on the menu.

How To Play Split-Screen Co-Op In Halo Infinite

  • Head to the campaign menu and load a save file.
  • Click on the “Play” button and get ready to go to your online friends list.
  • Once the “Loading Map” menu appears, open the friends list and join a friend idling in the main menu of Halo Infinite.
  • Leave the fireteam after joining that friend.
  • Next, go to the custom lobby seen under “Server” and pick “Offline” from it.
  • Once you are done with it, connect other controllers and sign into a profile.
  • Just click on “Play” to enjoy the game in local co-op with split-screen enabled.

Here’s a video of it working in action.

Since there is no official support for split-screen co-op, this is an exploit, for now, that appears to work just fine. It is possible that glitches/bugs might occur since this is not officially tested, but you can get a taste of split-screen co-op this way.

Halo Infinite is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
