Sony is apparently planning to showcase a trailer for the God of War sequel during their Summer event that will possibly include new announcements and reveals.
This new rumor comes from user Ashhong on the ResetERA forums. His sources were verified by the moderators confirming that the information he shared was genuine. He talked about God of War being a cross-generation game and also revealed that Sony is planning to share a trailer for the game during their Summer event. When asked when will it happen, the user replied that around E3 time.
Sony is 100% having some kind of event or presentation in the Summer. I know for a fact they are working on the GoW trailer for it. Likely June I believe
The user also mentions that God of War was originally supposed to release in 2021. The developers had targeted a 2021 release window for it but the plans changed and it was delayed to 2022.
Also to remember, GoW was originally a 2021 game, so the amount of PS5 owners is even less. I can guarantee you that Sony looked at the numbers, and this was by far the right decision from a business standpoint.
The user later mentions that this might be old info by now and plans could change so take it with a grain of salt.
God of War is one of the best-selling first-party games on PS4 and also held the crown for the fastest-selling game until Marvel’s Spider-Man took it. The sequel was originally announced for the PS5 but it was later confirmed to release for the PS4 as well.
