God Of War Ragnarok Voice Actor Inadvertently Hints At Sequel Being In Development

During an interview with Matan Evan, the individual who The Game Awards regulars will remember as the ‘Bill Clinton kid’ from 2022’s show, Atreus voice actor Sunny Suljic was asked about his experience working on God of War and God of War Ragnarok.

In response, Suljic stated that his experience has been “insane”, and that he’s already looking forward to the next game if they were to begin work on it. He was then asked if Santa Monica Studio is already working on anything he can currently talk about. He declined to comment, although he did laugh as if he knew some things he couldn’t talk about.

It’s a bit of a no-brainer that the next God of War game is likely in the early stages of development. The recently released downloadable content, named Valhalla, serves as an epilogue to Ragnarök, guiding Kratos and companion Mímir through a series of trials within Valhalla as Kratos reconciles with his past life in Greece. It drops a few hints regarding where Kratos’ next adventure will take him.

God of War Ragnarok is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was globally released on November 9, 2022, for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking the first cross-gen release in the God of War series. Serving as the ninth installment in the series and a sequel to 2018’s God of War, the game loosely draws from Norse mythology and unfolds in ancient Scandinavia. The narrative follows series protagonist Kratos and his now teenage son Atreus, concluding the Norse era initiated in the previous game, which centered around the eschatological event of Ragnarök predicted after Kratos killed the Aesir god Baldur.
