God of War Ragnarok Release Date Broken By Sony’s Official PlayStation Store

God of War Ragnarok is not out for quite a while but its release date appears to have been broken by none other than Sony PlayStation itself.

A user who had ordered the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 bundle for PS5 received the God of War Ragnarok bundle instead.

The user shared their experience on Twitter mentioning that they had ordered it for their friend. It also appears to be a digital code of the game instead of a retail disc, which likely means it won’t be playable until launch.

Earlier, Sony Santa Monica, the developers behind God of War Ragnarok, shared an official message on their Twitter account cautioning the fans to be wary of spoilers.

Thanks to retailers breaking the street date of the game, plenty of screenshots and gameplay footage from it have made their way online. We also have an overview of the various difficulty options and gameplay length.

“As we approach launch, it is important for our studio to preserve the experience of God of War Ragnarok for players who want to enjoy the game for the first time without spoilers.

We ask that you please be considerate of the many fans who do not want to accidentally see clips, gameplay, or narrative spoilers and avoid sharing them wider.

We are doing our best to limit the exposure of unsanctioned footage and screenshots, but the reality is that we cannot catch everything.

For those of you who do not want to risk seeing anything before launch, we strongly advise that you mute any keywords or hashtags associated with the game until release day.

We appreciate the support you’ve shown us more than we can say. We can assure you it will be worth the wait to experience the game yourself when it is released in less than two weeks on November 9.”

Earlier, Cory Barlog, who directed the God of War 2018 reboot also expressed his frustration with retailers breaking the release date of the game.

God of War Ragnarok will be out on November 9, 2022, and launch for PS4, and PS5.
