DLC for Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio’s action adventure game, God of War Ragnarok, will reportedly be revealed by the end of the year, possibly at The Game Awards 2023.
Sources close to Sony have told Areajugones’ Ramón Baylos that DLC for God of War Ragnarok will be revealed within the next 2 months, likely at The Game Awards 2023. He mentioned that he upon contrasting and corroborating the information, he came to the conclusion that it came from reliable channels. He refrained from mentioning the identity of his source so as to keep them out of harm’s way.
Baylos stated that the source in question did not comment on how the God of War Ragnarok DLC will be revealed. In other words, it’s currently unknown whether it will be announced via a trailer, a teaser or if it will appear at a major gaming event. However, he added that everything seems to indicate that the expansion will likely be announced at The Game Awards 2023, which will take place next month on December 7, 2023.
If the God of War Ragnarok DLC is indeed real and set for a reveal within the next 2 months, we’re inclined to agree that the announcement will likely happen at next month’s The Game Awards. Geoff Keighley, the event’s producer and host, has proven to be very resourceful when it comes to getting publishers onboard for these sort of reveals. Last year, at The Game Awards 2022, the Burning Shores expansion for Horizon Forbidden West was announced. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense for a similar DLC for another major PlayStation first-party title to receive an announcement at this year’s show.
Previously, it was reported that God of War Ragnarok had achieved a remarkable milestone by selling over 11 million copies. This accomplishment in such a short amount of time makes it the fastest-selling game in the series.
