Parts of an earlier story script for Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games’ latest web-swinging adventure, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, have allegedly leaked.
Apparently, much like prior leaked details regarding cut content, the preliminary story script for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 comes via the data that was recently stolen from Insomniac Games’ servers. It offers a rough outline of events in an early version of the story. It consists of a collection of disparate ideas, meant to be a springboard to further refinement. There are plot holes as well as elements that do not flow gracefully.
In the prologue, Mary Jane ends up discovering that Peter is Spider-Man. This leads to a deep and emotional connection between the two, and it seems like they will be together for good, even though they will break up soon. Then, they realize that they’re late, and that they are supposed to meet Harry in Times Square.
Later in the early story draft, Dr. Connors reveals Harry/Venom’s plan to Spider-Man. He is using Oscorp technology to open up wormhole to another galaxy, where billions of Symbiotes await rescue on a dying planet. If Veno is successful, it means the end of humanity as we know it. As Dr. Connors works on a plan, Spider-Man leaves Miles and Dr. Connors to head back up to the city and battle rogue Symbiotes and try his best to keep Mary Jane from getting killed.
In the epilogue, a few weeks after Harry’s funeral, Peter is called to the former’s Lawyer’s office; Harry left something to him in his will. With Mary Jane by his side, Peter is handed a check that Harry says is for him to finally start the business they always wanted. Peter then watches a video that Harry made a few weeks earlier where he talks about their friendship, how he was the closest thing he ever had to a brother, and how he looked up to him because he was always so responsible, did the right thing even when times were the toughest.
Later, Mary Jane and Peter go out to dinner, and she confronts him about why he hasn’t given her the ring yet. He’s shocked, he didn’t know she knew about the ring. She laughs and says their apartment is very small, hard to hide anything in there. They talk about how they both want to spend the rest of their lives together, but they’re not in a rush to get married.
A lonely, depressed, and angry Norman Osbom enters RAFT’s maximum security wing and stands face-to-face with Dr. Otto Octavius. He says to Otto, “I know we’ve had our differences, but you and I now have a common enemy. I’ll do anything you want, just tell me how I can put an end to Spider-Man.” Otto tums to Norman and simply says, °Kill Peter Parker.” Just then, Norman looks down on his phone, sees a note from his head scientist, °G-Project serum complete. Ready for human trials.”
