A remake of 505 Games and Starbreeze Studios’ 2013 adventure game, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, is reportedly set to be announced soon, possibly at The Game Awards 2023.
Well-known leaker billbil-kun, who has shared the PS Plus lineup several times ahead of its official announcement in addition to other leaks, took to Twitter/X to share that a remake of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons will be announced sometime soon, possibly at the upcoming The Game Awards on December 7, 2023.
According to the source, the Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons remake will be published by 505 Games, just as the original title was back in 2013. They were unable to get any details regarding the remake’s release date. That said, with the announcement set to happen soon, we probably won’t have to wait long to learn more about it.
For the uninitiated, the original Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was released on multiple platforms, including Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Nintendo Switch, and Amazon Luna. The game unfolds in a fantasy world inhabited by mythical beings like orcs and trolls. The storyline follows two brothers embarking on a quest to find a remedy for their father’s ailment. Praised for its rich narrative, the game garnered positive reviews from critics and achieved sales exceeding 800,000 units by January 2015.
Players view the two brothers from a third-person perspective. Each brother is controlled independently using the controller’s thumbsticks. Specific controller inputs prompt the respective brother to interact with the game environment, such as engaging in conversations with non-player characters or grasping ledges and objects. The elder brother possesses greater strength, enabling actions like pulling levers or lifting the younger brother to higher locations. Conversely, the younger brother can navigate through narrow passages. Progression involves manipulating both brothers simultaneously to solve various puzzles, often requiring them to perform distinct tasks.
