Battlefield Producer Praises Ghost of Tsushima Post-Launch MP Strategy Calling It “Brilliant”

Ghost of Tsushima has received an update adding a free post-launch multiplayer mode DLC that can allow co-op play, and it is being praised by Battlefield producer.

In a set of tweets, Jaqub Ajmal, who is the series producer for Battlefield at EA DICE, has commented on how the strategy of making a post-launch multiplayer is highly effective and leads to less stress when it comes to developing an sp-focused game.

I’ve never been a fan of when SP dedicated games throw in a small MP mode just to be able to tick it of as a feature on the box, but adding it a few months later when players are thirsting for more like Tsushima is brilliant.

It also puts less risk on the project, because you can focus the team on the main game and make it the best it can be, and if it’s a big success you can add that MP feature you were dreaming of having post-launch. Win-win.

Also it won’t hit your Metacritic we’re they say ‘SP is a 10/10, but MP is just ok. So we give the game an overall 8/10.’ Instead it will be “Nani??? More content for free? Best game ever!

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a brand new multiplayer mode adding support for co-op in the game. It is launching after a couple of months of the release of the game.

Just like Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog is also working on a post-launch multiplayer for The Last of Us Part 2. CD Projekt Red has similarly shared their plans to release a post-launch multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077.
