Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster Coming to Nintendo Switch this September

This late summer, fans of the iconic Nintendo GameCube card-based RPG games, Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins, are in for a treat. Both games are being remastered in high definition and will be released on the Nintendo Switch on Friday, 15th September 2023.

The remastered versions, collectively known as Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster, will allow both original players and newcomers to relive or discover the emotional journey that awaits them in both games. In the first story, players follow Kalas on his quest for revenge for the death of his loved ones. The sequel then delves deeper into the secrets of the Alfard Empire, with players accompanying Sagi on his adventure.

Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster introduces new features to make the games more accessible to new players. These include the ability to turn off encounters, auto-battle, skip cutscenes, and auto-save. The game and battle speed can be increased up to 300%. For those who want to slay their enemies even faster, the “Instant KO” feature allows players to win battles in a single attack. When players need a break, they can enable the “No Encounter” function to avoid battles. The remastered games also come with several other system settings to support game progression.

The Baten Kaitos series is known for its unique card-based battle system and its engaging and emotional storytelling. The HD remaster promises to bring these beloved games to a new generation of players, while also offering original fans the chance to revisit these classic adventures in high definition.
