Avengers Will Get PlayStation Exclusive Spider-Man DLC This Year, Confirms Crystal Dynamics

Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that the PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man DLC is still planned to launch later this year in a new update on their Twitch channel.

While Marvel’s Avengers Future Imperfect story expansion failed to bring back users, at least on PC, the developers are still hard at work on creating new content for the game. They had outlined a roadmap for this year that includes multiple in-game events, and a new major story expansion that would add Wakanda and Black Panther. There was no mention of the PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man DLC.

After the roadmap was confirmed, Crystal Dynamics assured the fans that the DLC is still coming and will be released for the PlayStation consoles. They didn’t give a release window for the DLC but judging from their roadmap, it would be out after Black Panther expansion.

Right now, the game is going through the Tachyon Anomaly event that will be followed by the Red Room Takeover event adding new Hero outfits and more content. The game was also released for the PS5 and Xbox Series with an update that launched early this year.

In their Twitch chat during the developer’s stream to showcase their upcoming plans, it was revealed that Spider-Man DLC will be released later in 2021. This happened around the 7-minute mark during the video stream when a user asked about the release window for Spider-Man DLC to which the Crystal Dynamics PR replied back saying that it is 2021.

Crystal Dynamics hasn’t shown the in-game model for Spider-Man in Marvel’s Avengers so it will be interesting to see if they work with Insomniac Games in a collaboration or create their own different model for the game. In the past, Avengers tower was seen in the first Marvel’s Spider-Man which led to the speculation that there might be a Marvel Game Universe just like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this hasn’t turned out to be the case based on Marvel’s Avengers.
