Smilegate’s popular MMO ARPG has hit an unexpected issue with one of the bosses in their Guardian Raids. Slaying Guardians have been one of the main sources of leap stones, honing stones, and accessories, crucial for progression. These ancient beings present a significant challenge to players. However, the Guardian Tytalos seems to be making the encounter more challenging than designed for many Lost Ark accounts.
What Are Guardian Raids?
Among the Korean ARPG’s many features, Guardian Raids are one of the game’s staple end-game activities as it provides players with tons of gear and honing materials that can be sold for Lost Ark gold. Encounters with these bosses are very similar to the highly acclaimed Monster Hunter franchise. Adventurers will have to search for the Guardians in specific areas and defeat them within the time limit.
These ancient bosses are by no means easy foes. Each Guardian will have a specific mechanic that will deal damage or provide debuffs to assaulting players. Sometimes, these bosses will have team-wipe mechanics that will kill every player if they are not careful.
The ancient creature Tytalos is arguably the strongest Tier 1 Guardian in the game. He has a party-wipe mechanic that is very hard to dodge if players do not recognize the incoming attack. Unfortunately, defeating the powerful ancient being seems to be more difficult than expected.
The Tytalos Issue
After the recent update for the Arkesia Grand Prix event, developers and gamers have noticed that Tytalos seems to have become much stronger and more difficult. This means that defeating the beast within the time limit has become almost impossible for players who are still in the first tier. Another bug was that the beast’s tornados do not spawn. This had a significant impact on raids since the whirlwinds can be used to provide immunity from the Guardian’s team-wipe mechanic.
Amazon Gaming Studios has notified players that they are aware of the existing issue and that they were working very closely with Smilegate to resolve the issue. For the period when the Tytalos problem persisted, Amazon warned players not to participate in raids involving the last tier 1 boss. This warning was issued so that gamers could avoid wasting time, energy, and resources.
Unfortunately, the issue has effectively blocked the progression of many adventurers. Several adventurers were unable to progress to tier 2 Guardians since all Tier 1 bosses should be defeated once before being allowed to fight stronger beings. Fortunately, other contents such as Chaos Dungeons and Abyss Dungeons were not affected.
The Tytalos Progression Block Hotfix and Other Updates
The good news for adventurers is that the issue with the Tier 1 Guardian has been reportedly fixed. Lost Ark developers have issued an announcement that they have done a hotfix so that Tytalos has been rebalanced now. It has been noted that the gaming studio might compensate those who were affected by the issue.
Aside from the Tytalos fix, Amazon has also issued several changes for some persisting problems in the game. The gaming studio has resolved an issue regarding the game crashing when players use the search field while playing with a controller. The in-game clock has also been reportedly adjusted to accommodate daylight savings changes.
Aside from the hotfixes, the developers have also added new features and events to the game. After the update, HP potions can now be traded between players. In addition, the patch also included a new Fever Time weekend event. Adventurers will receive 3 Battle Item chests per character every weekend. Battle Item Chests contain:
- 5 Healing Battle Item Chest
- 5 Utility Battle Item Chest
- 5 Offensive Battle Item Chest
Healing items are especially useful since crafting battle potions can be quite tedious and require so many materials. Flares from utility chests are also very helpful in Guardian Raids. Meanwhile, classes with no stagger abilities will benefit from the available grenade found in the Offensive Battle Item Chests.
It seems the issue with the last Tier one Guardian has already been resolved, so players can continue with their daily activities as usual. Adventurers can now participate in Tytalos Raids again to farm accessories and stones for Lost Ark gold. Hopefully, other issues like rampant botting will be resolved quickly
