Now, for those of you who want to be familiar with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, in this blog, we’ll be talking about the characters, story, and gameplay.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Characters
The game is indeed filled with lots of interesting and memorable characters. Even the characters in side quests feel somewhat close. However, in this opportunity, we’ll talk about the three main characters in the game, Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer.
1. Geralt of Rivia – The White Wolf
Like a killing machine, Geralt of Rivia is indeed the strongest fighter in The Witcher universe. Trained by Vesemir as the oldest and most experienced Witcher, Geralt’s ability to fight is beyond doubt.
He is an expert with a sword and signs, so he can kill any monster without trouble. Like other Witchers who are mutated creatures, Geralt can also have sharp eyesight at night after drinking a special potion. The potions in the game are also served for different purposes. When you have a high alchemy level, you can even craft the strongest potions.
Not only that, Geralt, nicknamed “The White Wolf”, also has magical powers because his mother was a witch. The Witcher often uses signs, or simple magic, which makes him stronger when fighting. As the main protagonist, Geralt will come across many obstacles, including his complex relationship with Yennefer.
2. Ciri
Without a doubt, Princess Cirilla of Cintra or Ciri is one of the most memorable characters in this series. You can even play here at some points. The rare elder blood that flows in her body and the powerful magic power that she has inherited makes Ciri have extraordinary magical abilities.
Even though it hasn’t explored all of its powers, The Witcher series has shown several things it can do. Ciri can destroy a monolith tower just by screaming. This child of surprise from Geralt of Rivia is also able to manipulate time and space. As proof, he can see events in the future and dream of Yennefer even though Ciri doesn’t know her.
Not only magic, but Geralt also trains Ciri to have the ability to fight like a Witcher. With this power, Ciri can save and destroy the world. This princess of the Cintra Kingdom really has to learn to control her powers.
In the game, Ciri is trained by the Witchers at Kaer Morhen as a child. During the training, she showed incredible reflexes for both combat and learning. Most of the time, she was trained by the Old Witcher, Vesemir.
3. Yennefer of Vengerberg
The witch who is Geralt’s love interest is called one of the strongest witches in The Witcher universe. Of course, the elven blood that flows in her body makes Yennefer’s magic even stronger.
Initially, Yennefer had difficulty controlling chaos in her magic. However, after studying at Aretuza and mastering how to control it, Yennefer’s powers are increasingly invincible. The proof, he single-handedly can destroy the Nilfgaard army in the Battle of Sodden Hill through his fire magic.
The Story
The story revolves around Geralt and Ciri. Geralt, who was having a very strange dream of Ciri getting caught by the Wild Hunt, has a mission to find her after her father, Emhyr. During the long hours, you’ll be controlling Geralt who wants to seek traces of Ciri’s whereabouts.
During the journey, you’ll find lots of unique characters that aren’t easy to forget. The Witchers in Kaer Morhen, Zoltan, Emhyr, and many others. As we said, even the side quests feel like the main story.
The story gets more complex as time goes on, but each hour will be worth it. With the addition of the expansions, the story even grows further reaching the point of beyond.
The Gameplay
The combat in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt feels fluid, especially with the new update when you can cast different signs on the go. And yes, the game itself is a hack and slash, although due to the Geralts’ growing age, the movements are not as agile as you might think (even falling from low height could potentially kill him).
You can craft swords, which there are two of them, steel for humans and beasts, and then the silver for monsters. Crafting armour are also possible, although there are limitations on the level. So in order to wear certain armour or use stronger swords, you have to achieve certain levels first.
In order to explore the very vast world, you can either use your trusty horse, Roach or use the fast travelling feature.
