Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software today published an orchestral music video for “Overture to the Unwritten,” which was put over actual gameplay footage from the forthcoming Hogwarts Legacy game, which is expected to be released on February 10, 2023. Players will live the unwritten and embark on a risky mission to find a secret reality of the wizarding world as students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the first time.
“Overture to the Unwritten” features renowned recording artists Nicole Pinnell, Nicole Klossner, Ryan Shupe, Abe Kaelin, Bart Olson, John Knudsen, and Dune Moss, as well as choir and orchestral members from the University of Utah, BYU, Salt Lake Symphony Orchestra, and renowned recording artists Nicole Pinnell, Nicole Klossner, Ryan Shupe, Abe Kaelin, Bart Olson, John Knuds The video was shot on location at big concept music studios in Sandy, Utah, and Media Grabbers in North Salt Lake City, Utah, and incorporates an original composition by composers Chuck e. Myers “sea,” J. Scott Rakozy, and Peter Murray, as well as a 54-piece orchestra led by Nathan Hofheins.
The original gameplay footage wanders over the Hogwarts Castle and the huge surrounding locations, including Hogsmeade, and is projected behind the orchestra and interspliced throughout the music video to highlight the enormity of the universe. The symphonic music produces a wonderful melody evocative of the Wizarding World while invoking an earlier descent from ancient tales.
Fans may now listen to or purchase “Overture to the Unwritten” digitally as of today. All of the additional music from Hogwarts Legacy will be accessible on the Hogwarts Legacy website on launch day (Original Video Game Soundtrack). Songs from Hogwarts Legacy will also be included on a second CD titled Hogwarts Legacy (Study Themes From the Original Video Game Soundtrack), which will focus on more ambient, peaceful, soothing music that is suitable for listening to while studying for classes at Hogwarts or any school. WaterTower Music will release both albums, which will be available on all digital streaming sites.
