In Nier Replicant, players can use the game’s costumes function to change their character’s appearance, but many players are having trouble figuring out how to do so. Players can unlock certain costumes by playing the game, but the free 4 YoRHa DLC is possibly where many players first encounter costumes. Players can get this downloadable content for free and it includes weapons and costumes from the popular Nier Automata game. The method for equipping those costumes may come as a surprise to players who are just getting started.
How To Change Costumes In Nier Replicant
Unlike other games, players can’t change their appearance from inside the game in Nier Replicant. Instead, to change costumes, players will have to exit the game and return to the title screen or make sure that the desired costume is selected before loading the save file after starting the game. Go to the options menu from the title page. Players should see a Wardrobe option underneath Game settings and Difficult. This will unlock the Wardrobe menu, and the players will be able to change the appearance of their characters. Players will have options to change the “Boy” outfit, the “Adult” outfit, Kaine’s outfit, and Emil’s outfit. Players will most likely only have access to the YoRHa costumes from the DLC at the start of the game, but it’s a good idea to check back here if they get a new costume.
The corresponding characters will have the required outfits based on the player’s selection when they reload their save file. Players can’t choose different outfits for different files as these outfits seem to be the same for all save files. These costumes also have no effect on the game’s mechanics because they are purely for cosmetic reasons and just change the characters’ appearances. They do, however, alter the appearance of magic orbs as well as other aspects of the game.
Players can unlock two more costumes by completing the 15 Nightmares, and there may be more hidden in the game. Players will need some time to discover all the secrets that square Enix has packed into it since this updated version is still very new. In Nier Replicant players can change their costumes easily, but it’s odd that they have to exit out to the main title screen to do it.
