New Pokémon Snap Illumina Spot Locations and Where To Find Them

GIStaffBy GIStaffMay 6, 2021No Comments5 Mins Read

In New Pokemon Snap, there are six Illumina Pokemon hidden throughout the game and they are the real stars of the show from a narrative perspective. However, players are paying more attention to the Legendary Pokemon and the cutest Pokemon in the game.

In New Pokemon Snap’s story, these Lental region guardians play important roles, but finding them in the game isn’t easy although they are in the spotlight. In reality, there’s a good chance that you won’t even know that some of them exist when you are getting through New Pokemon Snap.

So in this guide, we will tell you the locations of all six Illumina Pokemon and how to take proper pictures of them to help you avoid missing out on some of the best photos in the game.

All New Pokemon Snap Illumina Spot Locations

Here you will find the locations of all the six Illumina Pokemon that you can find in New Pokemon Snap:

  • Meganium:

Meganium is a difficult Pokemon to overlook as your first exposure to the concept of Illumina Pokemon.

You will have to unlock the Florio Nature Park Illumina Spot by simply completing the night version of the park course. You will be greeted by Meganium at the start of this run, so start taking pictures after throwing some Illumina Orbs at it. You will be able to get the best possible shots until it hits the nearby Crystalbloom.

  • Wishiwashi:

You will have to take a picture of Frillish in the undersea course by tempting it with some Flufffruit in order to unlock Wishiwashi. Pink Illumina Orbs will unlock after you do this, you will need the pink Illumina Orbs to get the Clawitzer in that area to smash a nearby boulder. After that select screen from the Lental Seafloor course to reach the area’s Illumina Spot.

You will find several Wishiwash swimming around in this area. Hit all of them with Illumina Orbs instead of taking pictures of them individually. They will eventually come together and allow you to photograph this elusive Pokemon in its “School” form.

  • Milotic:

You will have to reach Research Level 2 on the Elsewhere forest course in order to find the location of Milotic. It doesn’t take long, and a version of the usual scene will greet you that informs you that an Illumina Spot has been discovered nearby.

You will need to convince Milotic to jump out of the nearby water in order to take a valid picture by hitting it with a piece of fruit and then quickly hit it with an Illumina Orb after you have arrived at the Illumina Spot of Elsewhere Forest.

  • Volcarona:

You can locate this particular Pokemon without much difficulty, but to get access to its area you will have to reach Research Level 2 on the Volcano course. Once that’s done, run through the course again, and use the exit near the ruins. The course’s Illumina Spot will be unlocked by doing that.

You will come across two Volcarona protected by fire shields at the course’s Illumina Spot. You will have to throw fruit at those shields to get them to drop down. In order to take a valid picture of it, you will have to hit the unshielded creature with an Illumina Orb. If you want, you can try to drop both shields at the same time, but you just need a photo of one of these Pokemon.

  • Steelix:

You can easily unlock Steelix. You will just need to reach Research Level 2 on the Outway Cave course and scan the big green rock near the exit to unlock the Illumina Spot for this course.

At that spot, the Steelix is particularly elusive, constantly ducking in and out of hiding holes. You will have to throw fruit in those holes to flush it out and to get a valid picture of it you will have to hit it with an Illumina Orb as soon as it flushes out of the hole. You will have a very short time to get all of this in the right order, so to pull everything off you must be on the top of your game.

  • Xerneas:

You will have to complete the Ruins of Remembrance course first in order to get an image of Xerneas. You will find various monuments with a Crystalbloom along the way. In order to unlock the Illumina spot of this course, you will have to hit all of those Crystalbloom with an Illumina and complete your run.

When you enter the area, You will find Xerneas flying around that spot, in order to take a gradable picture of it, you will have to hit it with an Illumina Orb when it is in its “flying form”. As compared to the other game’s rarest creatures, this Pokemon isn’t difficult to photograph, but if you want to get a usable shot in time you will need a decent aim.
