It is possible to customize the appearance of your character in Monster Hunter Stories 2. You can unlock new types of outfits in MHS 2. Some of these are tied to amiibo. In this guide, we will tell you all amiibo unlocks of Monster Hunter Stories 2.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: All Amiibo Unlocks and Bonuses
Most of the amiibo unlocks in Monster Hunter Stories 2 are purely limited to cosmetics. They don’t provide quality-of-life improvements to the game at all. In total, you can find six different amiibo unlocks in the game. The compatible amiibo are Ena, Razewing Rathalos, Tsukino, Magnimalo, Palico, and Palamute.
Nintendo has released three amiibos especially for MHS 2 while three of them are for Monster Hunter Rise. They are special in a way because they allow you to unlock layered armor in the game. You can find this in the chest in your village house. This allows you to change the appearance of your rider.
You can get the following bonus with these three amiibos: Layered Armor for Ena, based on Razewing Rathalos, and Tsukino. These three are only available in MHS 2. This is currently the only way to obtain these 3 layered armor sets in the game.
Obviously, there are older amiibos like the one from the original Monster Hunter Stories. They are also confirmed to work in the game and will contain armor featuring the popular riders from their respective game.
In Monster Hunter Rise, you can use Ena, Razewing Rathalos, and Tsukino. This is currently the only other game that supports these amiibos. These three will only gain you additional stickers in Rise, the same as how Rise amiibo works in Stories 2.
That’s everything you need to know about amiibo unlocks in Monster Hunter Stories 2.
