Legend of Mana Abilities and How To Learn and Unlock Them

Legend of Mana was first released in North America 21 years ago, and it is just as enigmatic today as it was when it was released for the first time. There’s some catching up to do for people who haven’t played the Trials of Mana version or remake and were expecting something a little more evident from the Legend of Mana ability and technique systems. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock all abilities in the Legend of Mana remaster.

How To Learn Abilities In Legend of Mana

Abilities are mobility skills that are connected to two buttons or keys and can be equipped two at a time in the skill menu. Each battle win adds a hidden value to that ability’s counter toward learning a more complicated skill, and each battle win adds a hidden value to that ability’s counter toward learning a more sophisticated ability. For example, winning a few battles with Defend equipped will eventually lead to you learning Counterattack after a battle.

The exact value of the requirements is never revealed, however, they aren’t extremely high. To learn a new ability, you may need to have it equipped for no more than 20 encounters. You do not need to have both of your requirement abilities equipped at the same time while learning a new skill with two requirements. Even when swapped out, the secret values for each ability are stored.

You want to unlock all of these not only so you can use them separately, but also so you can unlock special weaponry skills.
