Horizon Forbidden West Melee Pit Bug and How To Fix

Horizon Forbidden West players are reporting a major issue with the game related to the melee pit bug. Here’s how you can avoid or fix it.

The issue that has been reported for the games so far suggests that it happens if the player attempts to start a challenge or tutorial in the melee pit located in Chainscrape in Horizon Forbidden West. The game can end up showing a back screen. It is still running in the background and we can hear the sound and everything, but there won’t be anything shown on the screen.

This has been reported for the melee pit, arena challenges, and hunting grounds, so there are quite a lot of people who have seen it based on the reports online so far.

How To Fix Horizon Forbidden West Melee Pit Bug

Fortunately, there is an easy fix too. If you originally start the melee pit when you first arrive in the location, you might be fine doing the challenges, but if you return after doing story quests, then it will trigger this bug.

So the solution or rather a fix to this problem is also easy. If you have the deluxe edition of the game, all you need to do is to remove the deluxe edition or pre-order bonus equipment from inventory. This includes the armor and weapon from the first game. After getting rid of it, you should be able to fix the melee pit bug in Horizon Forbidden West.

If you want these items again, simply put them back and the bug won’t happen again.

Another issue that has been reported regarding the melee pit is that the quest doesn’t complete. This is something that might be patched with a future update so stay tuned to Guerrilla Games’ support forums and social media accounts.
