In Genshin Impact 1.3 Verison, players have a new elite boss to challenge. Primo Geovishap is the new boss who is a gargantuan monster that drops Juvenile Jade. In this guide, we will help you out to defeat the boss in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact Primo Geovishap Guide
Open the event panel of Genshin Impact to find “ Even Mountains Tremble”. Click on “Go to investigate” and there will be a quest marker that will lead you to the outskirts of Liyue Harbor. There you will get to know about earthquakes near Tianqiu Valley through an NPC, and the Primo Geovishap will be marked on your map.
You might encounter a Geovishap and a Geovishap Hatchling on your way to the Primo Geovishap. The usual Bone shard components will be the drop by these two, not Juvenile Jade.
The Juvenile Jade will be the drop by the Primo Geovishap itself. Its loot pool also includes Gladiator’s Finale, Wanderer’s Troupe, and several gemstones except for Vayuda Turquoise. You will need 40 original resin to collect your loot.
After you defeat the Primo Geovishap for the first time, go back to the NPC to complete the quest. You will get some hero’s wit, mystic enhancement ores, primogems, and gold for completing the quest.
Primo Geovishap’s Abilities and Weakness
The most unique thing in Genshin Impact’s Primo Geovishap monster is that it’s multi-elemental. Once the fight starts, it chooses randomly from various elements like Pryo, Electro, and Cryo. The Primo Geovishap’s attacks which are easily telegraphed will then apply these elements.
For example:
- Three-hit combo – The enemy will swipe and smash, with the final attack having a huge area-of-effect.
- Geovishap Breath – Periodically, the boss will roar and breathe an elemental in a frontal cone.
- Stalagmites – The boss will curl on its back and multiple spikes will fly out. These will explode in few seconds after landing, dealing damage based on its chosen element.
- Jaws – If you’re further away from the boss, it will burrow underground and rush towards your location. It will then jump up and do an AoE frontal smash.
Primo Geovishap Ultimate Skill – Primordial Show
You will be warned by the game when the Primo Geovishap is about to cast its Primordial Shower skill. It will unleash a huge elemental AoE after a charger time that deals a chunk of damage. You can alleviate this by picking up a shield crystal. The boss will generate one sometimes, it is better to bring to a Geo-based character like Albedo to spawn more crystals.
Note 1: You can easily counter the Primordial shower ability if you can manage to pick up an elemental shield. This also unlocks an achievement.
Note 2: This boss doesn’t have a final stand once it’s down to a sliver of health. Just keep hitting it and you can defeat the boss.
Farming Juvenile Jade For Xiao
The players are farming Juvenile Jade because they need it for the ascension of the newest Genshin Impact’s 5-star character Xiao. You will need Juvenile Jade and Vayuda Turquoise ( which comes from the Anemo Hypostasis) for the ascension of Xiao.
The Primo Geovishap drops multiple gems except for the turquoise, so if you don’t have enough resin you will be screwed. If you want to loot the drops you will have to spend 40 resin for each kill. It’s rumored that Hu Tao requires Juvenile Jade, so you will have to keep blasting the Primo Geovishap down the road.
Note 1: You will need 46 Juvenile Jade among other things for Xiao to reach level 90 and you will need 25 Juvenile Jade to be viable at level 80.
Note 2: You can use the alchemy table’s new conversion function. But this requires an existing gemstone of another type and Dust of Azoth.
